Frost, snow and slippery roads did not deter over 170people who took part in the 2009 Ballina GOAL Mile at the Ballina Athletic Club track in Belleek on Christmas morning.  Most of the participants ran or walked to Belleek Woods while those who came late used the track when the surface began to thaw.

Thanks to everybody who helped raise €2,241.20 for this organisation who work with the poorest of the poor in many countries all over the world.  A special word of thanks to P.J. Reilly, Peter Gillespie and Brendan Reilly who gritted part of the car park and track early on Christmas morning to enable the participants take part safely.

Please return all the outstanding sponsorship cards and monies so that we can finalise the amount raised and forward it to GOAL within the next few weeks.
