Rose-Anne Galligan (Newbridge AC) has achieved the World Indoor qualification standard for the 1500m at the Spanish Championships. Galligan ran  a personal best of 4:12.72 minutes to win the heat, smashing her previous indoor best of  4:15.13 minutes and was well inside the standard of 4.15.00 minutes.

Derval O’Rourke got her preparations back on track for the World Indoor Championships today at a meet in Flora, Norway, after a bout of sickness ruled her out of the Aviva Grand Prix last weekend. O’Rourke  produced a seasonal best of 8.00 seconds to place second at the meet having qualified for the final with another solid time of 8.06 seconds in the heat.
