Hi all,

Just like the training plans we’ve put together for runners on www.32marathons.com, Gerry and I are following a program that sees us enjoy a ‘recovery’ week every fourth week. So this week we’ve scaled back on the mileage, allowing our bodies a chance to mend and fully benefit from the 3 previous weeks of hard training.

By the end of the week we’ll have run 4 ten mile runs and have done one cross training session (I’m still debating whether to go swimming, biking or walking tomorrow!) There’s no long run this week which should leave us fresh and ready for a big one next week.

I hope everyone’s training is going well. Feel free to get in touch either via Facebook or by sending an email to info@32marathons.com

Safe running,

Ken

P.S. This photo from Christmas morning. 8am, minus 5 degrees C, 15 miles ahead of us!

Could you run over 800 miles in a month and a day? That’s the ambitious challenge facing long distance runners Gerry Duffy and Ken Whitelaw in July and August as they aim to run 32 marathons in 32 consecutive days across the 32 counties of Ireland to raise money for autism charities Autism NI and Irish Autism Action. Each week, we will add a new blog entry.
