The all new 2016 Nissan Maxima SR is expected to be a sports car with four doors. The specifications of the Nissan Maxima tell a different story that it is a family sedan. The car will be coming out with front wheel drive, continuously variable transmission and transversely mounted engine. These features are that of a sports sedan and do not qualify for a sports car. There is no concrete evidence as to whether Nissan had made changes to these features in order to tweak the car and to make it a sports car with extreme sports driving pleasure.

The 2016 Nissan maxima SR looks quite athletic in it’s built with strong muscular exteriors. It comes with 19 inch wheelbase and Nissan has re-tuned the shocks, springs and the anti roll bars. Like all the SR models, the new Nissan Maxima SR will also be coming on Goodyear F1 Asymmetric all-season tires. The SR offers great road sensitivity when compared to Nissan Maxima’s platinum trim.

2016 Nissan Maxima SR Is Nothing More Than Just A Midsized Sedan

The details of the tires suggest that it is more suited to a midsized sedan car and does not even qualify for a sport sedan status, let alone a sports car. The drive mode of the Maxima SR does offer a sports mode drive. Switching to the sports mode will increase the throttle sensitivity and also make changes to the transmission shifting strategy. The steering effort is a bit raised in this model and the vehicle does not have the steering precision when you hit the highways.

The front and the rear seats of the car give you more room and are also very comfortable. The interiors have a touch of metallic trim, faux suede and diamond pattern stitching. The round gauges have a 7-inch mounted screen between them to give route information and guidance. There is also an 8 inch touch screen in the center console that can be easily controlled by the driver with the help of a knob behind the shifter.

The 2015 Nissan Maxima SR travels from 0 to 60mph in just 5.9 seconds and the car can offer you a top speed of 135 mph. This car will offer you a fuel economy of 22 mpg for city driving and 30 mpg for highway driving. The Nissan Maxima SR is fitted with a DOHC 24-valve V-6 aluminum block that can add more horsepower to the vehicle to get a total of 300hp.
