The 2nd generation of the “Fluidic Sculpture” design style of Hyundai will be used to design the car. This is already in use on the Hyundai Sonata and Tucson models. Elantra looks to be having a radical look.
This new Hyundai Elantra will be arriving in the U.S. only as the 2017 model and it is sure to grab a lot of eyeballs on the roads with its sexy, svelte and sporty looks. The front grille is large, hexagonal in shape and chromed like the Audi A4. The side grilles have a boomerang shape and it also takes care of the daytime running lights. The car has a long profile with strong shoulders.
The interiors of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra have been tweaked to make it look better and comfortable than the previous model. It will feature an 8 inch touch screen infotainment system and a multifunctional steering wheel that is just the same as the one used in the Hyundai Tucson.
The engine that you will see under the hood of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is the headline grabbing 1.6e-VGT engine that is going to be likely combined with a mild hybrid system to offer great performance and efficiency. The output of the hybrid unit is said to offer 136PS of power and 221 pound-feet of torque. This engine will be mated to a seven speed DCT transmission system.
The other two engines that you would find fitted under the hood of the Elantra would be a 1.6 liter GDi that offers 132 PS of power and 119 lb-ft of torque and the Nu 2.0 MPi Atkinson engine that offers 149PS of power when would with a six speed automatic transmission gearbox.
