After having an explosive start to the sales of the new Apple iPhones, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in the United States, Apple is now looking to bring the new iPhone devices to India.
Apple is getting ready for a blockbuster opening of the iPhone 6S and 6S plus in India. The two new iPhones will be reaching the Indian stores on October 16th. Apple is looking to take advantage of the forthcoming festival season in India and has set its target to sell 12 lakh Apple devices in the October –December quarter in 2015. This sales expectation is nearly close to the total sales that Apple has achieved in the last year in India.
The new Apple iPhones 6S and 6S plus are expected to be the main contributors in the total sales during the last quarter. Apple is expecting the new iPhones to achieve around 60 % of its total sales in the quarter.
The sales target for the full year has been increased to nearly thirty five lakh devices. This is a figure that Apple targets in some of the biggest markets in the world.
Apple will also be embarking on a massive marketing and promotional strategy for which, it is expected to spend close to Rs, 300 crores, during the quarter. Apple is also expecting a rage for the new iPhone devices in India, similar to what it saw in the U.S.
Apple recorded sales of over 13 million iPhone 6S and 6S Plus within three days of its launch in the U.S. the craze for the latest iPhones and the festive demand will be the main factors to boost Apple iPhone sales.
Apple is also likely to come out with different sales campaigns as well as announce attractive buy back schemes to woo the customers.
These are unprecedented numbers for Apple sales in India. The company directed his top distributors to carry out aggressive marketing and sales of new iPhone models. Apple believes that there is no better time to penetrate the Indian market than the high potential festive period extending from October to December.
Apple had decided to go big in the subcontinent and plans to open over 500 iOS stores across the country. It is also looking to go exclusively in small towns and cities like Coimbatore, Amritsar, Nagpur, Nasik and Trichy.
Apple is planning smaller stores in the range of 300- 600 sq.ft. in smaller cities and towns in India.
