From Gerry:
All of a sudden we are almost at the start line. At the time of writing this (Sunday 6 June) we have less than 4 weeks to the first of our 32 marathons.

The peak of phase two of our training program was reached last Sunday. When I studied the training plan on Sunday 23rd May I saw the weeks schedule ahead. The total it had planned for us was 111 miles. Like, hello!!!

The ‘recovery week’ this week sees us only doing 60 miles. A year ago this would have seemed a lot to me but now I don’t even blink an eye at running 60 miles in a week! I took my rest day on Thursday- and it was such a joy to have an evening off [...]

Thankfully we’re coming towards the end of our third big week. Logging 100 miles plus per week around a normal working week takes time but I’m just about able to squeeze it in. I’m not left with much time for anything else though! Thankfully the legs are holding up ok which is great. I’m spending [...]

Hi all, 90 miles was the running target for last week, to be covered over 6 days. To give the shins a bit more time to recover though, I mixed the running up with walking, cycling and swimming.
Wednesday saw me do a two hour walk before work and a three and half hour walk after [...]
I have been asked the question many times about how the “organising” of the event is coming along. Certainly it is true if it were just Ken and I running the marathons, the logistics would be relatively straightforward.
As we are going to be joined by hundreds and hundreds of other runners that whole landscape changes [...]
Training has taken on a different form for me over the last two weeks as my shins have been at me a little. So instead of running I’m doing lots of walking and cycling and a bit of swimming.
Last Saturday week I left the house at 6:30 am for a long walk. This was my [...]
