Ford has shifted its focus on the Ford Fusion midsized sedan car. They want this car also to be offering quality performance to give a tough fight to other foreign competitors operating on the American soil.

The spy photos of the all new Ford Fusion ST prototype doing its test rounds are currently circulating on the internet. The new Ford Fusion that was photographed testing showed that it has quad exhaust tips. Apart from this, the car featured bigger tires and brakes as well as a front mounted intercooler. This confirms that the test car that was spotted on the roads was the Ford Fusion ST prototype.

Ford Fusion ST Protoype Spied During Test Drive

There is no doubt that Ford Motors is already due to bring out the 2017 model of the Ford Fusion car. The visual update that was leaked during the corporate presentation is currently doing the rounds on the internet. The Ford is looking to bring out a high end performance car through the new 2017 model version of Ford Fusion ST.

There are no specifications yet as to what engine would be sued by Ford under the hood of the 2017 Ford Fusion ST sedan car. But, it looks like the 2.7 liter twin turbo Ecoboost V-6 engine would be fitted under the hood of the Ford Fusion to give the necessary power and performance that every Ford lover is looking.

This 2.7 liter turbo Ecoboost V-6 engine will be mated to a six speed automatic transmission to give you a power of about 300 HP. The car would be offered as an all wheel drive that will help in providing all the power to the ground.

The Ford Fusion is expected to be having a sporty design and would be a lighter and smaller sedan car. There is no confirmation about the Ford Fusion ST prototype to be making it even to the production plant as it is early days. There are many who feel that the Ford Fusion ST would be just an engineering exercise for the enthusiasts at Ford Company. But, everyone is hoping that it does not remain in cold storage and that Ford thinks deeply about this car and brings it out into the market at the far end of 2016 or even early 2017.
