Taylor Swift was the person who won the most Moonmans on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards held in Los Angeles, California. But, it was her reunion with rapper Kanye West that was the highlight of this year’s MTV VMA. Life has come a full circle for Taylor Swift as she was at the receiving end in 2009 when West snatched rushed to the stage and the microphone from her hand during her acceptance speech. This year she was given the honor of awarding West with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.

One thing that took everyone in the audience by surprise during the MTV Video Music Awards was the announcement by Kanye West that he has decided to run for president in 2020. This was a proclamation that West made at the tail end of his acceptance speech.

Kanye West Wants To Be Part Of The 2020 Presidential Race

Swift before handing over the award to West said that everyone would be aware of the infamous microphone snatching incident of 2009. But, many would not be aware that Kanye West’s popular album “College Dropout” was the first album that she had bought on iTunes. She said that West has had one of the most amazing careers of all time.

Kanye West had a lot of good things to say during his acceptance speech. He said that he was still upset that Justin Timberlake did not get the awards for the album of the year for his “Future Sex/LoveSound” in 2007. He also apologized to Taylor Swift for grabbing the microphone from her in 2009.

He said that the arena and the stage, which he is using at the moment, will be gone the next day. It was the same in 2009 as well. But, the effect that the 2009 incident had on the people did not go away. It stayed in their minds. He said that he is there in the fight for the artists and was guilty of being disrespectful to the artists. Kanye West ended his speech by saying that he was contemplating on running the 2020 presidential race. This has become the talking point and the trending news on social media at the moment.

West also talked about how he was enjoying his fatherhood. His pregnant wife and reality star Kim Kardashian was watching him from the audience and was moved by his speech. Swift looked pretty relaxed and happy, handing over the award to Kanye West. She seemed to have buried her differences with him and both looked as real friends on stage. There seemed to be no hard feelings between them.
