San Francisco seems to be coming in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. This time it is regarding an ex and a current player of the team who are facing charges of sexual assault brought on them by the same woman. Ahmad Brooks is the 49ers linebacker who was charged with sexual battery and misdemeanor done to a lady who was intoxicated. The charge stems from an incident that took place in December last year. The incident occurred at the home of Ray McDonald, who is a former 49er. He was indicted with rape charges on the same woman and tried in front of a jury.

These developments have taken place at the courthouse in Santa Clara County which has proved a nightmare for the team. This team lost many good players from what existed last year due to misconduct issues as well as retirements that were unexpected. McDonald was released after the incident occurred in December. This time Brooks was sent home while the team was in the practice season against the Broncos in Colorado.

Two 49-Ers Are Charged With Sexual Battery And Rape Accusations

The general manager of the team issued a statement stating that the team was aware of the allegations of misdemeanor that had been filed regarding the matter that occurred in December and hence, Brooks was being released as this kind of behavior is not encouraged in the organization.

The charge against McDonald could lead to conviction which will culminate into eight years of imprisonment, though the actual sentence might be reduced to six months. McDonald also suffered a setback while playing for the Bears in May where he tried to assault a lady holding a baby.

The woman who brought charges against both Brooks and McDonald has slipped and fallen and was unconscious at the house of McDonald, by the pool deck, partially because she was intoxicated and hurt her head as well. McDonald assaulted her sexually while Brooks groped her while she was unconscious.

The San Francisco team on the other hand, has been suffering a series of separations when it came to players and coaches. After McDonald was cut from the team, the head coach was replaced as well. Linebackers Chris Borland and Patrick Willis were lost as well as two defensive and offensive linemen who retired. The star player has also had multiple legal incidents as well as several others who left as free agents. It remains to be seen how the team recuperates from these losses and whether it is able to pick up a solid footing again.
